In Landscape project, we aim to find a place or subject as well as working with texts, understanding how text is used and connecting to our images. My concept is observing sailoring (life or doing work of the sailor) alongside the dock in Bristol.

Bristol has been harbouring sailors since Saxon times, and since then it has performed an important role for imports between Britain and other countries. Back in the 18th century, over 2000 sailors stayed in Bristol for cheap accommodation, food and drink. In the present day, the harbour is the centre for various entertainments for people to enjoy their leisure time. The early sailors in Bristol used to work long hours, but the present-day visitors have become ‘weekend sailors’. For these people, life on the water, is now a more relaxed experience.
